Zagora > Tamgroute > M'hamid > Chegaga
We leave Zagora around 10:00 am. On the way we stop to get to know different places like Tamegroute. Known for centuries as the religious and cultural center of Islam. There we visit the Koran library and the workshop for the production of green porcelain with its large kiln. We arrive in M'hamid in the late morning. We will have lunch in a Berber bivouac. We then cross the sea of sand to the high dunes of Chegaga, which are around 40 miles from M'hamid. We reach our camp in the evening and can witness the wonderful sunset that bathes the dunes in red and violet tones. A magical night under the clear starry sky awaits us. We are served a Berber evening meal: soup, salad, tagine or couscous and mint tea. We listen to the music of the nomads around the campfire.
